Our Story
No Nonsense.
On a fine October morning in 2014, our founder, Laj Salam, fed up with the
corporate grind, decided to ditch his cushy ad job and dive headfirst into a new
adventure. He was soon joined by our co-founders, Praveen Raj and Biju
Oommen. With just a spark of passion and a tiny team crammed into a 350 sq.ft.
basement, PlainSpeak was born.
To be honest, our early days were a bit chaotic. The account team was on the
phone at the peak of their voices, while the creative team was brainstorming in
the same small space amidst all that noise. But it was all fun. Those early days,
filled with laughter, late nights, and a whole lot of experimentation, shaped who
we are today.
From the start, we scrapped the jargon and complicated explanations.
PlainSpeak has always been about keeping things simple, direct, and crystal
clear. No fancy fluff, just honest communication.
And our approach paid off. Within a year, we were bringing home awards,
starting with the Maddys. By 2017, we were crowned Agency of the Year at the
Pepper Awards. Soon after, we became the most awarded young agency in
Kerala. Later, we expanded our services from Trivandrum and opened a new
branch in Kochi.
